Travis P. Hignett Memorial Library

Named for noted chemist and fertilizer developer Travis P. Hignett , the archives and library at IFDC headquarters, in TVA’s Muscle Shoals Reservation, contain artifacts and documents related to the history of fertilizer manufacturing in the Tennessee Valley. The library also includes technical research and scientific resources on the development of fertilizers. A nonprofit international organization established in 1974, IFDC works with developing countries to address agricultural challenges of hunger and poverty.
